Earlier this year, the Multi-District Litigation Panel ordered all TPC cases to be coordinated for pre-trial discovery before the Honorable Courtney Arkeen of the 128th Judicial District of Orange, Texas.
Judge Arkeen conducted the most recent hearing on January 11, 2021. Judge Arkeen has appointed Special Master Dean Brinkley to serve as a liaison with the Court to oversee and facilitate settlement discussions between the parties. We are in the process of providing Mr. Brinkley with information about claims against TPC.
Once Mr. Brinkley has received the requested information from all Plaintiffs, he will advise of next steps. We will keep clients updated on this process.
We have continued to investigate potential claims against other companies, contractors, and/or manufacturers whose products or conduct may have played a role in the TPC plant explosion. To that end, we have secured thousands of documents from potential third parties. We are in the process of reviewing these documents and determining what liability, if any, these parties may have for the TPC Plant Explosion.
The next status hearing will be conducted on February 1, 2021. The purpose of the conference is to receive updates on the progress of the litigation, resolve any pre-trial disputes, and keep the litigation moving toward completion. After the next hearing, we will send an update of the litigation.
